ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - ALISA KISLYCH
INTRODUCING TIM LEASE'S VERY FIRST APPRENTICE HERE AT GOLDEN TAROT INK CLUB: ALISA KISLYCH!
After searching and interviewing several young artists, Tim Lease found Alisa while she was attending The University of Central Florida right down the street from our tattoo shop. Alisa has been drawing and selling tattoo commissions for 2 years, had an strong portfolio, and is a really hard worker. She dedicated 100% of her time into learning how to tattoo, and for all of these reasons it was easy for Tim to choose her to become his first apprentice!
Hear Tim and Alisa talk about what it's really like to be a tattoo apprentice at our shop (not the horror stores that you hear about), and what it takes to become an apprentice for Tim Lease in our interview video HERE:

MORE ABOUT OUR YOUNG STAR: ALISA
Alisa was born in Lithuania and is fluent in both Russian and English. She has been drawing ever since she was old enough to hold a pencil in her hand. She's incredibly motivated and talented. Tim checked her social media before offering an apprenticeship, and saw that she has been drawing commissioned tattoo art for clients for 2 years before even asking to become an apprentice. We also couldn't help but to notice that when she was young and in school that she would doodle tattoos on her own arm while in class, and would draw on manikins. There's a lot of talent and potential brimming in this young lady, and we love her passion and professionalism. It was an easy choice to add her to our team here, and we only see great things to come for this young artist!
"A lot of people that want to be an apprentice or tattooer or even some tattooers just like to copy things that they like instead of developing their own art, and on my journey all I did was focus on developing my art and not really mimicking someone else's and I think that's really important. I think it takes a lot of time to develop your voice as an artist, and I could see Alisa was already doing that and starting to make the imagery her own."
Some of Alisa's portfolio art pieces below before she started tattooing. It's important to know how to draw, and to have a strong portfolio before you start tattooing, and to be able to develop your own style and voice is an edge on the market because tattooing is such a competitive and saturated industry in most cities. People are no longer just walking into tattoo shops and getting a tattoo from the first artist available. Now they are researching (just like you are now) and carefully choosing their artists. Some really great tattooers are booked out completely form months and maybe even years because of this. Alisa's introductory flash tattoos sold out within hours online and she was completely booked out for her first month. We take that as a sign that this girl is going places in her career!
These are Alisa's tattoo flash designs available now until Jan 1st, 2020 only! All spots will book up quickly, and after Jan 1st Alisa will be doing custom work and walk-ins at our shop, so get this special one time flash at introductory rates while you can! YOU CAN BOOK HER NOW HERE
